Equivalency Average Calculator

Based on Jordanian Ministry of Education Equivalency Regulations

How the Average Is Calculated

100% = 6 places with school averages, or 8 without them. EST II, Ministry and Arabic subjects take 1 place each · SAT / EST I takes 1 (only one of them) · each AP takes 2 (so 4 APs, or 3 with school averages, fill 100%). When all places are used, the empty rows lock.

1School Averages (Grades 10–12)

Use scholastic averages only (exclude PE, art, music, etc.). If you moved from another foreign program after grade 10, the Ministry requires exams instead of school averages — choose "No" for Include School Average.

Include School Average

Yes No

Grade 10 Average Grade 11 Average Grade 12 Average

2 AP subjects 1 – 5

Each AP takes 2 places: up to 4 APs without school averages, or 3 with them. A score of 2 or more counts. Calculus AB and BC count once, and Precalculus can't count together with EST II Math.

3 EST II subjects / 800

Each subject counts as 1. Minimum 450 / 800.

4 SAT I / EST I / 1600

Fill one or both — only the higher one counts, as 1 subject. Minimum 1050.

5 Ministry subjects 60 · 40 · 100

Fill every Ministry subject you passed (Islamic Education / 60, Jordan History / 40, Arabic Language / 100). Minimum pass is 50% for each.

6 Arabic (GCE / IB) (cash in) A* – E · 7 – 3

Fill the one you have — if you fill both, only the higher counts (as 1 subject).

All Viable Combinations

Indicative only, based on Jordanian Ministry of Education Equivalency Regulations. Official equivalency is decided by the Ministry of Education.

Graduates of Jordanian schools must also pass Arabic, Islamic Education (for Muslim students) and Jordan History at school in grades 11 and 12. These are pass/fail and are not part of the average.

How the Average Is Calculated

100% = 6 O-Levels + 2 A-Levels (or 1 A-Level + 2 AS, each AS is half). Arabic (First Language) is required at any level. When a part is full, its empty rows lock.

1 Subjects held at Ordinary Level (O-Level / IGCSE) A* – D · 9 – 4

Exactly 6 O-Levels. They must include 2 scientific subjects, plus Arabic for the scientific stream.

2 Subjects held at Advanced Subsidiary level (AS) A – E

Only with 1 A-Level: up to 2 AS (2 AS = 1 A-Level). A subject you already have as an A-Level is not listed here.

3 Subjects held at Advanced Level (A-Level) A* – E

2 A-Levels count (or 1 A-Level + 2 AS). Scientific stream: Math or Physics + another science. Literary stream: Arabic + another literary subject.

How the Average Is Calculated

100% = 6 subjects: at least 2 HL, Math, a science and Arabic (A or B), and at least 21 points out of 42 from the six subjects. EE / TOK core points are added only if you choose Yes below: then all 3 core points count and the average is out of 45 instead of the Ministry table. After 6 subjects, the empty rows lock.

1IB core points (TOK + Extended Essay)

Optional. Choose Yes to add the 3 core points to the six subjects; the average is then calculated out of 45 instead of the Ministry table.

Do you have core points (TOK + Extended Essay)?

Yes No

2 Higher Level (HL) subjects 3 – 7

At least 2 HL (3 – 7). Scientific stream: Math + sciences, 2 of them at HL, plus Arabic and a foreign language (English or Language B). Literary stream: Arabic + languages / humanities, 2 of them at HL, plus Math and a science.

3 Standard Level (SL) subjects 2 – 7

Complete your 6 subjects (HL + SL = 6). A subject you already have at HL is not listed here.

Tip: Press Enter to jump to the next row.
